The Colonial Government steamer Hine moa, leaves Onehunga this evening for Wei lington, via Kawhiaund New Plymouth.
.' To-day the steamer Wareatea was transferring her cargo of Westport coal to the hold of the Shaw-Saville ship Invercargill, for her refrigerating engines.
The brirjau tine Stanley, 345 tons, made the run across from Newcastle in 18 days, while the banjue Wenona, 511 tous, which came in this morning, took 22 days on the same paseage.
The Union S.S. Company's steamer Wareatea, Captain Lambert, arrived last evening at 10 o'clock from Westport with a load of 600 tons coal, tho bulk of which is for the refrigerating engines of the ShawSavill ship Invercargill. She left Westport on the 30th ult. at 4 p.m., and had strong E.N.E. winds and high seas till arrival.
Lasc evening the brigantino Stanley came into, port and anchored off the Hob-son-street Wharf, bringing a cargo of nearly 500 tons coal from Newcastle. Captain McKenzie, in command, states that the brigantine left Newcastle Harbour on November 16tb, and had fresh N.E. winds till the tiOth, after which light northerly winds and calms prevailed for a week. The North Cape was passed on Monday, and a N.E. wind and unsettled weather were had down the coast, with the glass low.
The well-known old intercolonial trading barque Wenona, in charge of Captain G. Davies, is again in the Waitemata, having arrived in port about 9.30 a.m. to-day from Newcastle, with a full cargo of 738 tons of coal for the Auckland Gas Company's Works, Captain Davies has his wife aboard, with a couplo .of other passengers from New South Wales. The barque left Newcastle on November"l2th, ■with a fresh wind from the E.S.E., which lasted for five days. Then she had light easterly winds and calms till the 28ch, and then strong ISi.JE. winds until the EasbCape was sighted on tho Ist inst. She passed the Three Kings at 7 a.th. on the 2nd, with fresh W.S.W. breezes, and thence had light winds up the coast to arrival.
