The current issue of the " Bible Standard" concludes its ninth volume. The editor in a few modest words expressed his thanks to those friends who have nobly worked for the wider circulation of this interesting and serviceable publication, and makes a necessary appeal to subscribers for continued support. The contents of the present number are varied and embrace a variety of topics, including a paper by Mr Taylor on the " Probability of Life After Death," "Plain Words from Spuigeon," "Alabaster Boxes of Human Sympathy," "The Trembling of the Nations" (poem), "A Visit to Mrs Livingstone's Grave," and others. " The Correspondence Question Corner," and temperance essays are full of suggestive thoughts, suitably arranged for readers of all ages. Mission notes and news of the month close the reading matter. We notice that vigorous efforts are being made for a now hall, and that an excellent site has been offered to Committee for the building.
