ROWING REGATTA.
regatta of the Auckland Rowing Association takea place on Saturday next, and (s exciting much interest in aquatic and pther circles. There are good entries for the various events, and as most of the prews are in steady training, determined iLo do or die, the events should be very exciting. Ponaonby, Wesb End, City, Auckland, •North Shore, Waitemata, and St. George's ill send crews for the various events ; and ,n one race no less than eightcrews will start, some of tho crews have obtained new boats or the occasion, and all the sheds are very lively both morning and evening. Arrangements have been made for the use of one of tho boats of the Ferry Company to carry such of the general public as wish to view the races ; and programmes are to be issued free.
The regatta will bo held in the harbour, and not On Lake Takapuna as originally intended.
