POLITICAL GOSSIP.
(BY TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL REPOETER.) I
MR MOSS'S AMENDMENT,
BOTH PARTIES CONFIDENT,
Wellington, this afternoon.
The Opposition are confident of victory on the division, Their only fear is that the two or three promised members will go back on their word.
The Government whips are also confident, and say the Opposition will be slipped up by some members. It is generally thought outside thab when it comes to the pinch members will hesitate about turning the Government out.
The feeling against the reduction of the number of members is said to be ab the bottom of the trouble.
