London, June 19, A shipment of South American mutton and fruit preserved by the new method rotted in the tropics. The outaides appeared intact, bub on opening tho specimens they wero found to be worthless. The Company assert thab the experiment was not properly carried out, tho instructions not being followed. They declare a similar shipment from India has been successful. l_utton is being shipped to Australia as an experiment.
