Wool.—The sales opened this day at the level of last sales, except good greasy and scoured ; market is firmer. The attendance of both Home and foreign buyers is good. Competition by both Home and foreign buyers is fairly active. The sales comprised about 320,000 bales; 82,000 bales have, been sent to the i, manufacturing districts direct.
Wheat. — Market .slightly better. The general promise of/the crops of the United Kingdom, on Continent, and in America is very good, except reports are unfavourable / concerning the growing crops in Russia.
Leather. —Market quiet; best sides are worth o.^d per lb.
New Zealand Hemp.—Fine qualities are neglected ; medium and common are ia demand. Medium is worth los per ton.
Frozen Meats. —;Mutton market firm, Canterbury and Wellington muttons are worth, respectively, 6}id and 6d per lb, Canterbury lamb is worth 7j^d per lb. Beef maiket unchanged.
