It seems, from what wo hear, that the agitation amongst settlers with regard to the wide margin between wholesale and retail prices of produce is spreading in other country districts besides Pukekobe. The " New Zealand Farmer " for May, we notice, has a leading article on the subject. This issue of our agricultural contemporary is as full as ever of matter possessing interest and solid instruction for rural settlers. Hie illustrations include a series of excellent cuts illustrative of the spur system of pruning vine'; There is also an interesting article unon weasels, stoats, and ferrets, in which the introduction of such vermin into the colony is strongly condemned. A Jiie-like representation of the head of a weasel, stoat, and polecat respectively, isgiven. Themformation in the farming and gardening departments is as practical and seasonable as usual.
