New Fearnought.—The reef in the winze continues to go down strong and is underlying very flat. The hangingwall portion of the lode looks the best, and, .has,; shown within the last few days good mineral indications. The winze*is over a depth of 21 feet. Silvkuton.—The flinty stone in the drive is giving- place to nice kindly stone, carrying a little gold. The country is all that can be desired for gold. Saxon.—The reefs in the hillward drive at No. 5 level have come together and given a body about four feet in thickness. 7or 81b of nice picked stone were obtained at the junction. Gem.—-Very fair reports came to hand from last breaking down, an average of about nine inches of crushing stuff being saved from the leader. New Albuknia.—Yesterday a mineralised lode was cut into about 14 inches in the battery level crosscut, which is believed to be the Sons of Freedom reef. Dabs of bright mineral are plentiful through the stone, and gold may be gob at any time by driving on the course. _ ■_ Paroquet (Waiorao).— Operations in this mine are suspended until tne new wire rope for the serial tramway arrives. The quartz forwarded to the battery during the short time the line was working (about 70 tons) has been all treated, but the return from the same has not yet been made public. Saxon G. M. Co.—lOlbs. picked stone of reefs hilhvard drive^No. 5 leveled 151bs from stopes above No. 2 6 Mata. —The leader on top level which ■was rather split up is making again and is about 6 inches in .thickness at present in t ho face of the drive, with the prospects of B till further improving.
