SWIMMING,
The fourth heat of the Auckland Swimming wubs 200 yds handicap came oif at the Jresh Water Baths last evening, when wee started, viz., Messrs Jack, O'Dowd, J*a Dickey. After a most excitino- race, "-Dcnycl beat Jack by about 2ft, a few 'engths separating the second and third j?ei>. There are now eight men left in the ?ai heat, which eventuates next Friday JJght at half-past five, on which occasion a tfin . race is exPected. The members of »e_Uuo are practising very assiduously for j? w'carnival on the 30th inst. in Calliope this is i)ractised every Tuesday, in fsgame the players showing considerable •weiice.
