BANKRUPTCY.
: Joshua Thomas Johns, jam manufactured of Seymour-street, Ponsonby, has filed a ■petition to be adjudged a bankrupt. ' i Robert William Bkowne made a sworn ;statement before the. Official Assignee today. Ho stated that he had followed the callingof horse trainer for the last five years. ;He owned a horse called Eenilworth,;',in respect of which judgment for £100 was given against him at Paeroa on January 7th on the ground that his horse had been the cause of the death of Mr Dickey's horse, with which it had been stabled. ,On February 4th he received a judgment summons, and was ordered to pay £120 on the 4th March or take three months' impfiabnment. In consequence of this he filed. $c handed Kenilworth over to -his brother Jn. Browne, of Cambridge, in consideration of an advance 0f.£20, and besides this he bw'ed his brother £120 for horses, money leufc etc. Besides the £140 due to this brother and £120 due to Mr Dickey, he owed £14 Zs 5d to four other creditors. He had nothing whatever in the value of assets, except clothing and he was now out of employment
