THE RAWSON ENQUIRY.

New Plymouth, this day. Mr Hesketh, of Auckland, solicitor, arrived this morning to act for Judge Rawson.
Mr Jellicoe, who is acting for those making the charges, left by train for Wellington to-day. The Commission has adjourned its sitting till Wednesday next. The charges brought by Mr Boswell have been twice before the Public Petitions Committee of the House, and reported on as having nothing in them.
There was a good attendance of ladies at the Baotist Tabernacle yesterday afternoon to hear the address by Miss Ackermann on women's work in the United States. The vice - president, -of the "Auckland W.C.T.U. (Mrs E. Best) presided. This evening Miss Ackermann will lecture at the V.M.C.A. Rooms on "Alaska, Its People, Their Manners and Customs." The lecture is free, bub a collection will.be made to defray expenses. • •,
