NEWMARKET BOROUGH COUNCIL.
This Council held their usual meeting; last eveningl, there being present the Mayor, Mr W.1 Morgan (in the chair), and Messrs Whyman, Lowe, Spooner,'Maxwell, Lump- : kin, Kent anl Holmes.
Meeting Night.—ln accordance with notice of motion given at last meeting, 'the, Mayor moved that in order to overcome the difficulty at present experienced by press representatives with regard- to attending tfie Council meetings, . owing to the City Council being held «•: gularly on the same night, the Newmarket Council meeb on Thursday evening next and on each alternate Thursday afterwards for the transaction of business. The motion was carried.
Accounts.—A number of accounts were passed for payment. The bank balances were stated to stand as follows :—Genera' account, debit, £245 18s; waterworks account^ debit, £61 5s lid ; interest and sinking 'fund account, credit, £74 5s lid? water loan account, credit, £7 19s 3d.
