A VILLAGE SETTLER SHOOTS HIS WIFE AND ATTEMPTS
SUICIDE

Asheurtok, this day. Francis Fahey, a village settler near Chertsey, shot his wife dead thi3 morning and then attempted suicide. It is not known whether he will recover. Family troubles are supposed to be the cause. The police and a doctor have pone out. CiinisTCHUKon, this day. Francis Fahey, who shot his wife and attempted to shoot himself at Chertsey, near Ashburton, was known here unde l ' the aliases of Michael Fahsy and Michael Slafctery. He was formerly night, watchman for the Bank of New Zealand, and also drove a cart for the Suffolk brewery. He addicted to drink.
