INTERCOLONIAL RIFLE FIRING.
0 SELFISH BEHAVIOUR OB 1 THE VIC
TORIANS
(BY TELEGRAPH. — OWN COUItES-'ONDENT.)
Wanganui, this day. Captain Somme_.v__.i_e writesasfollowsfrom Melbourne as to the Centennial shooting :— "Arrangements were not up to the mark, and the New Zealanders decidedly disaoproved of tiie alterations made in the programme," He was pleased with tho New Zealand men, but says that, however hospitable the Victorians may have been in the past, thia is not the case at present, and beyond putting officers' names down at the Club, nothing has been made of the team. He was inclined to think they were even looked on with suspicion, as they had been shooting well. At practice they were watched carefully.^ They were not allowed to enter for any rifle club matches, and the cake goes to Victorian mon, who say the money was voted for them, and could not be given to outsiders. A match has been arranged with tho Sydney men on their way home. From what he could see there is no love' lost between Sydney and Melbourne volunteers, owing to Now South Wales having won the International last year. Afc time of writing (November 13fch) the team were all well.
