FOOTBALL PRESENTATION.

Mr # H. McKestzib, ..tho well-known footb*ll; representative, who leaves fo^ Christchurch to-morrow,receiveda very nea^ souvenir this afternoon. When the news became known last Thursday that he was going away several of his football chums interested themselves in getting up a slight token of respect for him, limiting all subscriptions to a, modest :l shilling, lhe result of thia was that a large num bet assembled at Mr J. A. Cooper's shop, Victoria - street^ ato one o'clock! :Jm day, when that gentleman presented the departing "Yep" with a handsome gold locket, accompanying it with a tew ■ words wishing him good luck, and letting | him know thathischumsand friends who had ! mads the presentation.did not intend it as a i testimonial, but as a token to remember Lthem by. Mr McKenzie, who was taken by surprise, briefly returned thanks, and said it would be a long time, before he forgot his Auckland chums, lhe locket contained two miniature photographs, one of the Auckland "reps_ that beat the Englishmen, and one of the Cup winners—Grafton Football Club — of both of which teams Mr McKenzie was a member. On the face of the locket waß an inscription—"To Rab McKenzie from the Auckland Boys," and on the back an engraving, of a footballer in uniform with the oval under his arm. Altogether the presentation was a very tastefu one, and quite carried with it the good wishes ot all tho footballers in Auckland, with whom Mr McKenzie is very popular.
