The team selected to do duty for Ot'ago against the Englishmen gives general satisfaction, arid a tough fight on Saturday is looked'for. The'wicks are undoubtedly strong, but the forward division will suffer greatly by the loss of Gibson's services. Setting is 3 to 2 on the English team. The team for1 Combined South Island match. on Wednesday will -.nob be selected till Saturday night The backs will probably consist of: Thomas (Oamaru), full ; Thomson (Dunedin) and Donnelly (Christ church), halves,; Lynch (Dunedin), Harper (Nelson), and Hope (Dunedin), threequarters. In ; the" forward division Canterbury will, in all likelihood, be represented by ' Bevan, Turnbull and Dow; Southland by Galbraith and Treae'ier ; Otago by Anderson, Moi rison,. Sontag, and another ; but of course the selection depends on Saturday's form. . ,
' The Englishmen are anxious ;to play a return combined match at Christchurch on Saturday week. Otago has been invited to supply a full-back, two three-quarters, and three forwards. . •
