BANKRUPTCY.
Owen Meredith—This debtor deposed before the Official Assignee to-day :—I came up from Wellington about three years ago \Vith £100, and was free from debt. I tried for employment for six months before I was successful in obtaining it. During, this time my capital had nearly all vanished. - My first job lasted for about seven months, when 1 was again out for a time. I joined others in taking a tribute, bub after working it for six months wo had to abandon it. ■;] I do, not think I gat £5 out of it for the whole time/ I afterwards joined another in three con-1 tracts, which all* turned but bad, leaving me in debt to a,bout the same amount1 as I now. I ram earning" 8s ? per day; and have been during this : ' year. I consider that I have paid my way during* this year. The furniture in my house' amounts to about £50,£25 of which belongs1 fto uuywife, and; always' has done since our, macriage 17 years ago. :She .willjbe.prepared to make affidavit as to,ownership.. I, have nothing, nor any interest in anything, 1 excepting what is disclosed in my schedule.
