ATHLETIC NOTES.

PONSONBY ROWING CLUB.

The annual general meeting of thePonaon.' by Rowing Clv b was held in the Ponsonby Club Hotel last evening. Mr Currie, last year's captain, presided, and there was a large attendance of members. The Secretary, Jdr J. W. Dickson, read the report) and balance-sheet, which were adopted. The balance-sheet showed: the receipts to have been £46 lla 6d, and the'expenditure 3d mora Thelreport was most satisfactory. During the last season the Club had wbn nine out of eighteen events in which they had competed, including the Champion Gig race, Tne receipt of a champion nag from Mrs Eridean for their success in-this race was acknowledged. Sbitchbury. Nine new members were elected, arid a vote of thanka passed to the officers of last year for their services. A set of medals won in the^club's Trial Fives last year were presented by the chairman to the winners : MessrsH. Swales, G. Scott, J. Maxwell, Ji'O'BrieniW. AUCKLAND ROWINGS CLUB. The annual general meeting of this Club was held at.fche Imperial Hotel last evening, Mr Thds. Henderson presiding. , The report showed the Club to be in a most satisfactory condition, the sheds and boats being almost nevp, the; number of members' large, and the financial state very good. The election of officers resulted in the reelection of last year's, save the Treasurer, who haying resigned, Mr W. Sharland was elected in his stead. The following are the officers:—Captain, Mr Thos; Henderson'; Secretary, Mr R; W. St. Glair; Comniittee, Messrs 'J. Baker,;. C. C. .Dacre, R/Hogg, A. Lang, R. *Q. It was resolved that a fecoininendatibn of the i Committee to impose ■ an, entrance ) fee ot 10s should not come into force * until December next. The. medals won at the inaugural and; : trial-fours;,last season were presented to the successful crews by the captain. Twelve* new members; iwerb elected. The Committee was authorised to procure additional plant, and to make the necessary arrangements for, the procuring a landing stage to be placed in front of the shed. NEW ZEALAND CRICKED TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA. A team of New Zealand, cricketers is being: organised by; Messrs sWilding, Cuflj and OUiver, of Christehurch, for a tour through Tasmania and Victoria during the coming season. Although the team jtoill not be a thoroughly representative one, ib " will include. several good players; Messrs Wilding; Cuff, Harmanj Cotterill, and Studholme (Ghrißtchurch) will accompany the team, and it is understood that Messrs Ford and Cookeii (Nelson), and Bartoa (Blenheim) have been asked to go.
