CAMBRiA^THe. drive at^ No. 4 level has been discontinued, and a start made'to rise on the leader cut some time ago in the tee drive. .This leader- is about three inche 8 thick, and is, composed of very kindly qiiartz, iri which colours of gold have been seen. ; There is no change to report from any of the other workings, ,■:■. • : . . Saxon. of gold are seen in the quarte coming to hand from the various [ stopes, but; very, ; little picked stone ;is ; obtained. Good progress is being made by i the contractors with the dme at No.; 5 level, and colours of gold are occasionally seen when breaking down the reef. ' Cambria. —The mine manager reports that the leader in the bottom of the winze on the 6th leader is about 6 inches in thickness. ;• :Dabs and colours of gold were seen extending through the quartz when breaking down the leader on Monday. Colours of gold were seen through the quartz when breaking down the 3rd and' 4th stope3 on No. 7 leader. There is about 12 inches of the main reef being broken out for crushing^ and the hanging leader-is about,9 inches in thickness. Colours of gold were seen thrqugh the quartz when breaking it down, j lOlbpickedstone cametohandfromthehang-1 ingwall portion of the main reef on Thursday last, r Colours of gold were seen through the quartz while breaking down hangingwall leader, 30 loads of quartz have been crushed during the week for the return of 92pz amalgam. 6 loads tailings have been put through the berdans during the week for the return of 13oz amalgam. : , 3STe\v,Prince Imperial.—Three tribute parties will be crushing this Week, but none of them will have a payable return. ' Saxon.-—Colours of gold have been;observed in the quartz in.most of the leaders when breaking them down lately. 2 or 3 1b of picked stone have been selected from the 4th etope. 176 loads of general dirt froni the Old Caledonian and 59 joads at the New Prince Imperial babtery have been crushed for the return of 180oz of retorted gold, which will be melted to-day.
