Drunkenness.—Two first offenders wer® mulcted in the usual amount. Charle 8 Plemmings and William Seagar were each fined 40s and costs, or in default 7 days' hard labour. James Carolan pleaded guilty bo having been drunk in Queen-sbreet while in charge of a horse, and was find £1 and cosbs, or 48 hours in default. Rock Oysters. — Gonzaria Sibilea was charged wibh-baking rock oysters during the close season from Coromandel. —Mr Hudson Williamson prosecuted on behalf of the Collector of Customs, Mr Thomas Hill.—As the defendant was an Italian Mr John Angelo officiated as inberpreber.—Prisoner pleaded guilty, but said that he was not aware that Coromandel was within the boundary which had been closed. — Mr Williamson said that the Coromandel beds had been closed since February last. The Collector of Customs had no wish to press for a heavy penalty. The main object was to notify that the Coromandel foreshore was now within the prescribed limits. —His Worship fined the prisoner £2.
