At Messrs Cochrane's land sale to-day the farm of 117 acres was bought by Mr Morton, Durham-street, for a client.

Messrs C. E. Paget and Co. report an improved week's business. Good sales have been made in mostly all classes of produce, and in several lines — notably prime salt butter and good new cheese—the demand has been unsatisfied. Potatoes have advanced £1 per ton since last week, and are selling readily at £4. Onions have improved a trifle in price, but the demand is limited. Hams and bacon of good quality are still selling well, Canterbury curedhaving the call of the market. Vegetables and general garden produce come to hand in large quantities, but are fetching starvation prices. Grain is quiet of sale, but last week's prices are maintained. Poultry was booked in small quantities, and prices showed a slight improvement upon previous sales. (inferior), 3Jd to 6|d ; Canterbury" hams (second quality), 6d to 6Jd ; bacon do., 4d to s£d; flour, £9 10s per ton ; oatmeal, £9 15s.
