He received them courteously, heard all they had to say, and stated tliali he had had information exactly in the direction thnt the Committee desired. They would give their best attention to suggestions in Cabinet, and try as far as possible to give effect to their wishes. HANSARD APPOINTMENT. At a meeting of the Reporting Debates and Printing1 Committee, held this morning, Mr J. M. Geddes, of tho Auckland Star, lias beeu appointed to the vacancy on the Hansard stall. There were nine candidates,ebut the choice finally rested between Messrs Geddes and Flick er (of Dunedin). Tho former secured six votes and thelatter three.
