THE ENGLISH FOOTBALLERS
MATCH AT DUNEDIN.
(by telegraph.—own correspondent),
Dunjsdin, this day. The English football team are to play their first colonial match here this afternoon. The weather is all that could be desired, and the visitors are at present decided favourites in the betting. The English team has been picked as follows :—Backs—Haslam, ' Stoddart, Speakman, Anderton, Bumby, and Nolan ; forwards—Seddon (captain), Thomas, Banks, Burnett, Kent, Eagles, Mathers, Williams and Laing.
Owing to ill-health Keagh (three quarter) and Morris (forward), two of Otago's best players, will be unable to take part in the match. Great public interest has been excited over the contest.
