LIFE PEERAGES PROPOSED
London, April 27. Lord Dunraven, moving the second reading of a bill to reform the House of Lords, said that direct representation of the colonies was impracticable, and he questioned whether the colonies would approve of the1 AgentsGeneral sitting in the Lords. Lord Salisbury opposed the motion, and announced that Government were preparing a measure to create life peerages with power to expel black sheep. The bill was withdrawn.
