This vessel was built some fourteen years ago, and there lias never been any occasion hitherto to do the least bib of repairing to her bottom. To see what the timber was like after such a number of years' exposure to the salt water live planks were taken out of the schooner's bottom, arid it has been found that they are as sound as the day they were put in. Thei-e can be no doubt therefore that if Pohutukawa is cut in the right season it cannot be beaten for ship building.
