PICTURES FOR THE MELBOURNE EXHIBITION.
London, April 25. A superb collection of pictures has been obtained for display at the Melbourne Exhibition, and it s said to be the finest collection of Em lis i art ever despatched abroad. It in< ud ■; pictures by Turner, Landseer, Robe g, ..ansfield, Hook, James Hallsemelle, I. wei n, Coll, Milluis, Hunt, Fribh, Revere, Lv well, Hardy, Leigh ton, Tad em a, Grab m Leslie, and Broughton, and new work.- s ecially painted by Maowhirter, Peltie, M irks, Holle, and Agnew. The picture "The Shadow of Death " has been lent for exhibition, and the Duke of Westminster will forward a couple of paintings by Turner. Tho difficulty of resisting the exorbitant demands of the shipping and insurance companies somewhat imperilled the collection, bub bhab has been overcome. The Prince of Wales will inspect bhe collection before it leaves.
