It is not often that anyone is so fortunate as to recover a parcel that has been lost for four years, but such has been the experience of an Auckland citizen, Mr D. G. Jones, who resides in Newton. Four years back when going from London to Gravesend on his way to take ship for Auckland he lost a parcel, containing three clocks and some valuable papers, in a 'bus on the road. He at once telegraphed to Scotland Yard on discovering his loss, though he had little hopes of recovering the parcel as he could give no information as to the number, driver, or any other particulars as to the vehicle. Much to his astonishment, therefore, the parcel turned up this week, having come out by the last direct- steamer, and after a lapse of four years the papers, etc., are once more safe in I*- Davy Jones's locker."
