Waiomo
ANOTHER GOLD DISCOVERY.
Thames, this day.
. Another gold discovery has been mad e at,Waiomo, near the county main road and close to the former site of the Bleazard battery. The find was made by Messrs Lowrie and minnis, who inform me that they first noticed the reef exposed on the surface in consequence of a recent landslip having uncovered it. The reef is two feet thick, and colours of gold hay been seen in three or four places, while a few nice dabs of gold were visible in some stone brought into town from the reef yesterday afternoon. These claims have been marked off. ■ Cambkia.—Strong colours and dabs of gold we're seen to-day when breaking down the reef in« No. 4 drive, at No. 3 level. The quartz ajsocarried really good mineral. Shares have consequently risen here to 7s 4d.
