CRICKET.

Thkrb was a large attendance of spectators in the Domain on Saturday, when the As sociation Cups were begun. The Junioi's are for the first round only playing oneday matches, but one innings has to be completed, while the Seniors' extend over two days. The following are the results :—

Senior Cup

Auckland y. Holland. — Holland won the toss and put their opponents in. No one, with the. exception" of Morrison, run out 11, seemed able to negotiate the bowling, and the eleven, which is very strong in batting, were dismissed for the miserable total of 46. G. Mills, who bowled grandly, was the principal cause of this, scouring 8 wickets for 25, while he was ably backed up by good fielding. Holland, with the exception of Thomas, made a very poor show against Morrison and Beale, and had lost seven wickets before they reached the Auckland total when time was called. Auckland : C. F. Auckland B went in, and at the call of time had lost three wickets for 17.

Holland v. Auckland.—This match resulted in a win for Holland by 32 runs. Auckland could make no stand; against A. Rowe and Waddingham, and were all out for 23. Cheeseroiui, 9, and Courtayne, 7, were the chief contributors. Bowe got 6 wickets for 12, and Waddingham 4 for 10. Hollands then made 55 in their innings— Burfootll, A. Kowe9, Murphy 8, Morgan 7, being the principal scorers. Cheeseman, for Auckland, took 4 wickets for 16. Alpha v. WAiT£MATA.-*-Alpha went in first, and scored 48, of which Angus got 30 by a good display of cricket. Mackie and Pritenard did best with the ball, the former getting five and the latter four wickets. Waitemata scored 82 runs—Johnston 19, Ross 16, Stichbury 12, and Service 11 were top scorers. Goodacre took six wickets for 33 runs. The match resulted in a win for Waitemata by 34 runs. Gordon v. Onehunga.—The scores were : Gordon 97, Onehunga 20, thus Gordon won by 77 runs. J. McCauslarid (24), (J. Z. Clayton (23), and W. T. Kenderdine (13) showed beet form for tho winners. Leahy and Jeffrey each secured 4 of the Gordon ■wickets. With the exception of Sommerville (10), none of the Onehunga men could make any stand against the bowling of Kelly and Aneenne. The former got 6 wickets for 4 j-uns, and the latter 4 for 5 rune. United v. National.—United won by 8 rime, the scores being—United 56, National 48 Swanson (19), McCormick (10) a*d Cotton (8) were the chief scorers for the winners, while Gllmour obtained 7 of their wickets aid Waters 3. For tho National, Spfnce (V A- Nicholson {1)0. Nicholson (10) were tht* scorers. A. Braund took 5 Wickets, McCormick 2, while three were run out.

Fee ond Junior Cop. Goetjok v. OxEHrmGA United.—Gordon, are tending.&v 41 runs on the first innings, the scores being: Gortibn, 52; Onehuriga Wandekbbs v. Standabd.—This match resulted In; a victory for the Wanderers by 9 wickets. Standard made 14 in their first innings, and 24 in their second, which; tied the score of the Wanderers' first innings, 38 The bowling of P. White was exceptionally good for the Wanderers wickets for 7 runs. Perman aso bowled well for Standard, taking 7 wickets for 20 rU GiiAMMAfI School v. Holland.—ln this match Holland are leading by 20 runs on the first innings. Holland first innings, 54_Payne 20, Bairi 8, Austin 7 being top scorers. Grammar School's first innings. 34-Robinson 12, McLeod 8, doing best for the school. Robertson 4nd Wakerley bowled well for Holland, and McLeod, and Peacock for the School. The match will be finished next Saturday.
