Aitken reports sales for the past week at tho City Market Auction Rooms and Agricultural Hall as follows:—Business for the past week good in all departments.especially for new pototoes, for which there is already a steady demand. Poultry: Fowls, ordinary sorts. Is 5d to Is 9d each : well-bred sorts, is 9d to 2s 6d each ; Cock-i-cls, la 6d to 2,3 4d each, according to quality; Brahmas, 3s each ; Spanish, 2s 6d;_ach ; Langshan chickens, Is 4d each ; and many other sorts, satisfactory prices ; ducks, Is lOd to 2s 2d each. Monday: Sale of unredeemed , pledges from Messrs Bloom and Kecsing's, pawnbrokers. There" was a large attendance, fair competition, and upon the whole prices were satisfactory. Sale of household furniture and effects at Mr Robert Carlile'a, View Avenue, Mount Roskill Road. A goodnumbevprcsent), biddiiigrather languid, but everything considered the result was satisfactory. Tuesday : Sale of house hold furniture and effects . at Mrs E. Hobbs' residence, Claremont-street, Kyber Pass : a fair number present, and prices ruled low. The sale of stock of groceries, etc., at Mr Thomas Worden's, Newton Road, was largely attended by the trade and others, and good prices wore obtained. Wednesday: Sale of household furniture and effects at the Mart: not a large number present, bidding dull and prices low. Thursday: Sale of drapery, fancy goods, etc., ab Mart; good atbendance, and a large quantity of stuff changed hands at satisfactory prices. The sale of household furniture and effects at a private house in Hepburn-street, the attendance was large, but few buyers, therefore prices ruled low. Friday, market day : Salo of poultry produce, fruit, groceries, etc. There was a large attendance and fair competition, and upon the whole good prices were obtained. But little left on hand. Mb Edward Lrvdon Reports :—Business for the week satisfactory. The sales have been well attended throughout. Furniture is rather hard to quit. Tho demand for good produce lias been very fair ; there was not a great deal entered, but there was plenty of inferior in the .market, which was hard to quit ab any price. At Monday's sale in Vincent-street, the attendance was very large, and most of the goods brought fair prices. At Tuesday's sale of furniture, in tho Mart, tho prices ruled in favour of buyers, except the small lines, which sold very well. At Thursday's sale of drapery, clothing, and fancy goods in tho lines offered were of first-class quality, and brought good prices. At Friday's sale of produce, furniture, etc., potatoes fetched 3s to 3s 6d per cwt; now potatoes, Id to l_d per lb ; onions 2d per lb ; cheese, lfo\ to 4d ; butter, salt, 3d to 4_d per lb ; fresh ditto, sid to7dper lb ;' tea, 16s por box : hams, 6d to 7d per lb ; baron, 3sd to 6_d per lb ; fowls, Is 6d to Is lid.
