Per schooner Gauloise, for Tahiti: 2bales sacks, 10 casks oil, 12 drain pipes, 1 case earthenware. The barque Diamond left Hokianga for Sydney yesterday. The schooner Waireka arrived at Hokianga from this port yesterday. ~ The barge Rata arrived this morning from Waihoura with timber. The barque Wenona, which is loading at Dunedin for this port, will sail at an early date. The barque John Knox arrived at Mongonui yesterday after a seven days' passage from Sydney. Thes.s. Bellinger proceeded to Drunken Bay to-day to have her compasses adjusted. The Union Company's steamer Mawhera left Tauranga at 5 o'clock this morning, and should arrive here this- evening at 7 o'clock. The following passengers booked by the Rotorua for the West Coast ports to-day :— Messrs W. N. Blair, J. T. Stewart, G. H. Stevens, Miss L. Hill, and 2 steerage. The Wellington was docked yesterday afternoon in order to allow measurements to be iaken for a shoe that is to be placed on her keel. She came out this afternoon, and will be docked again in a month or so to allow the sihoe to be put on. The R.M.S. Ruapehu, which left for New Zealand on Sunday, will come by way of Madeira, Cape of Good Hope and Hobart, and will make Wellington her first part of call in New Zealand. She will not visit Auckland. The new schooner Gauloise made a very successful trial trip round the harbour yesterday afternoon. There was a stiff breeze blowing, and the vessel behaved in a manner that gave satisfaction to everyone concerned. The barque Lech Naw finished loading with timber at Mercury Bay on Saturday for Newcastle, and sailed on Sunday morning, but experiencing a heavy northerly gale : she put into Rangitoto Channel last night to obtain shelter. The Balmoral Castle, the first steamer of the Colonial Steamship Company, arrived at Sydney on Sunday, and is expected to reach Auckland about October 9th to land cargo for this port. The brigantine Stanley arrived from Newcastle last night with a cargo of coal. She left Newcastle about 8 p.m. on the 17th inst., with north-easterly and northrwesterly breezes and fine weather. She cached the North Cape on the 25th, and arrived here at 7 p.m. last night.
