ADVICE TO LADIES. The Ladies of Auckland are now casting about i for their new SPRING AND SUMMER DRESSES. The two considerations that weigh of most importance may be said to be—Pick and Price. I A word of timely advice, therefore, may not be ■ out of place. Look around well before buying. Dozens of Ladies select at first sight only to disappoint themselves by seeing an article a few days after that would be much preferred and often at a lower figure. For instance, a lady remarked only a couple of days since, " Did you see that charming and* magnificent lot of prints, at Abbott's in Newton ? I feel quite vexed that I have bought." These were the actual words; uttered, and we fear will he the sentiments of not afew, as they review the stock now showing at-the above-named's establishment. In refer- ■ ence to which R. H. ABBOTT & CO. wish to say that they have searched the markets inevery direction to enable them to place before their patrons a choice, profuse, and unwearying* variety of Prints, Hats, Bonnets, and, Summer Goods in general, all at as reasonable a figure as it is possible for them to be got for money. We have now over 1,000 designs in new Prints,' and our Stock will he replenished by Novelties] by each steamer. We further beg to inform^ our well-wishers that, notwithstanding theundenied badness of the times, our trade shows ani increase of from 50 to 70 per cent, month by! month upon last year's trade. It has never been a part of our policy to deceive the public in the slightest degree by large advertisements announcing bogus reductions, etc. If we announce a CheaD Line, our customers can hear ua out that it lufi never been over-described.
