She also brings 308 r p<*ssengers j mi whom 196 are nominated innhigrants, J jnder the charge of Dr. Husband, and Miss |! France, matron. The officers are the same . as on the last voyage, but have re- j ceived a step in promotion. Mr Salis- j bury is Chief Officer, Mr: Moffatt having taken command of the Company's ship Omapere. Mi6s Bates, a third-class passenger, died on July 30th. The Arawa left Plymouth at 3.50 p.ra on Juty 16th, arrived at Teneriffe at 7 a..m. on July 21 ; letb 8.45 p.m. same day » crossed the Equator July 27, in long. W % , and meridian Greenwich Aug. Ist, lat. 184. S.; arrived at Capetown at 8 a.m. on -August 6th, left at 1.25 p.m. the same O&j. She had fine weather, and reache-d Hobart at 7.35 p.m. on August 24th ; left 1 p.m. next day, arrived off He-ads 8.15 yesterday, and steamed into berthing at the wharf, at 11.30 a.m. to-day. • The steamer Arawa has on board the following passengers for Auckland :— Saloon: Mrs Bow and Messrs Hankey (2).
