LATE SHIPPING.
ARRIVALS,
Danae, barque, from Java Diamond, barque, from Newcastle Opotiki, schooner from Opotiki Nellie, cutter, from Whangapoa Una, scow, from Tairoa Ida, scow, from Kennedy Bay
The barque Diamond, a wooden vessel of 391 tons register, arrived from Newcastle this morning, and, owing to contrary winds, anchored at the powder ground. She brings coal for the Sugar Company, and will berth at the Birkcnhead Wharf.
The s.s. Chelmsford arrived from East coast ports this afternoon with 350 sacks maize, 56 sacks wheat, 50 sheep, 75 pigs, 2 tons sundries. Passengers: Mrs Weston, Mr Savage.
Tho French barque Danse, 705 tons register, arrived from Batavia at noon to-day with a full cargo of raw sugar for the New Zealand Sugar Company. Being from an "infected port," she anchored off the wharf to wait for the Health Officer, although there was no sickness on board, she is in charge of Captain J. Benoid, who reports having left Djenkar, on May 30th had light winds and calms to cape Lewin on the 10th July and since then fresh gales from N. and N. W. with heavy sea. Cargo 930 tons raw sugar.
