THE SUGAR BOUNTIES CONFERENCE.
London, August 3.—ln the House of Lords to-day Lord Salisbury announced that Germany, Spain, and Belgium had, subject to certain conditions, assented to the British proposal that a conference be held to discuss the sugar bounties question. France, however, replied to the proposal in a:i uncertain manner.
