London August 3.
In the House of Commons to-day Mr W. H. Smith made a statement of the intentions of the* Government regarding the conduct of the business now before the House. He announced that the Land Transfer Bill be dropped together with a num. ber of minor Bills, but fhe Government would persevere with the Bill, facilitate the provision of allotments for small householders, and the Bill for. the commutation of tithes.
