This exhibition was well patronised by the' public on Saturday evening, when a! promenade concert added to the enjoyment) of the proceedings. A band under Band- i master Mettam was in attendance, and an ngreeafcle programme was presented by I Max Rankle; and his company of artistes.! At the close of the Show, Mr Aitken sub- ' mitted for sale by auction the various ex- j hibits which had been presented to the' Society. Prizes were awarded as follows :— Flowers. The following are the awards in the flower', classes which were entered for competition ; Camellias, 24 varieties.—lst prize, Mr G. B. Owen. There was only one exhibit. Camellias, 12 varieties.—lst prize, MrC. S. McDonald. Camellias, 6 varieties.—lst prize, Mr C.! S.-McDonald. Single White.—lst prize, Mrs Harrison 11 2nd, Mr C. S. McDonald. Best collection of 3.—lst prize, Mrs Maivardy. ■ Best collection of s.—There was only one exhibit, and no award'was made. Winter Frait Apples. —Three dishes culinary: Ist prizo Mr Lippiatt; Mr R. Hobbs, commended. Apples.—Three dishes dessert; Ist prizo, Apple Farm Company; R. Hobbs, com. mended ; Mr Lippiatt, commended. Best collections.—H. E. Sharp, Mr Lip. piatt, and Apple Farm Company, each obtained certificates of merit. Pears, Culinary.— Ist prize, Mr R. Hobbs. ~™[ Dessert.—lst prize, Mr R. Hobbs J Mr J. Mayo, commended. Navel Oranges.-Mr R. Hobbs, commended. Best collection of the citrus' family.—ls* prize, Mr Herbert B. Dobbie, and certificate of merit. Vegetables. i Mr Gallagher, of Avondale, exhibited a splendid dish of early rose potatoes, of which the seed was only planted last April. L Certificates of merit were awarded to a number of exhibits which were not for com* petition.
