THE RICHMOND.
A special mee'jing of the Seamen's Union was held last evsninjj to consider the action of the owners of the s.s. Richmond in employing Kanaka labour on that vessel. A statement was made to the efl'ect that concessions had been made to Messrs Donald and Edenborough in the running of the Janeb Nicoll, bub these did not appear-to have been satisfactory. The concessions were said to have been, made by working overtime for which no payment was claimed. After a lengthy discussion it was resol.ved that in future no concessions be made to the owners of the Richmond. The Richmond is expected to leave for Soufcli Sea Islands tomorrow. ' She has Enxopean officers and a native crew.
