ELECTION NOTES.
E«3<cn au«l Waitemata.
It .is .said that the action of the Commissioners in making the railway line the boundary between these districts lias given every land-owner for twenty .miles through whose property the line runs a vote on either side of the lino and in both of these electorates. The New BoHxidaries. The inhabitants of that portion of the Borough of Newmarket now transferred to the Electoral District of Manukau are perfectly indignant. They consider themselves disfranchised. The Commissioners could not have found a more compact district than the Boroughs of Parnell and Manukau, and why they decided otherwise is beyond comprehension. Mr Hobbs points out that the reported inclusion of Okaihau in Mlirsden. electorate must be an error, as Okaihau is in the centre of Bay of Islands County, all of which county forms a part of the Bay of Islands constituency. The mistake is possibly a telegraphic one.
