ALARMING FIRE AT DUNEDIN.

Dunedin, this day. A fire broke out at eight o'clock last night in the shop of William Davie, fancy goods warehouseman, George-street, which was completely gutted. Peterson's co-opera-tive stores and the shop of Ling Hing adjoining were considerably damaged. Davie was insured in the Manchester Office for LSOO ; Peterson's stock for LSOO in the Equitable; Ling Hing for LBOO in the Standard, half reinsured. The premises belonging to Hallenstein were insured for LSOO.
