DRUNKENNESS.-^-John r Evans, Mary Ann Russell; Kate Power, arid Charleb-Smith were each'fined 5s and costs, or in default 24 hours'' hard labour, for having been' drunk.'—Daniel Gallagher was. also fined 10s and costs,or 48 hours' hard labour.— Robert Leary was sentenced to three months' hard labour, for being, an Habitual drunkard, j ■__ Jubilee ToiUccO. —_- Harry Hines was charged with the larceny of 391bs of tobacco value LIO, the; property of Mrs-Harriet Williamson. —Alexander Bond deposed that .he was manager at Mrs Harriet Williamson's tobacconist's.establishment. .On the.morriing of.the 20th instant^-he placed two blocks of tobacco at the doorway about 9.15, o'clock. A few minute's" afterwai'ds witness missed the two blocks, consisting of 391bs of tobacco, value' LIO. Witness went in and told Mr Bond.—Benjamin Keats, barman afc the Occidental Hotel, deposed to seeing the prisoner enter the hotel between 9 and 9.30 on the morning of the 20th instant.
