Tins match was played at Wellington on Saturday, and resulted in a draw. Owing to the heavy nature of ' the ground, no very brilliant play was exhibited. Warbrick and McCausland, two old Aucklanders, belonged to the visiting team. Generally speaking the teams were wellmatched, and had the ground been dryer the game-must been very exciting. Warbrick all but secured -'a goal;] and' at one time saved the ball from the Wellington men when near the, . goal line The' three "rolled together on the ground, and Warbrick prevailed. Cooper next made a pretty pass to Fairbrothor, who made the only run of the game. When near the line his foot slipped. However, the game waa located on the north east corner, and the visitors were forced down twice. On the last kick out they made a final effoTfc, and after a couple of scrummages, succeeded in ending the match well in the centre of the ground. On Monday the visitors will play the Manawatii representatives from Falmerston district. * ' ' ,'. '■
