An adjourned meeting, of creditors in the estate of J. S. Sheriff was held yesterday afternoon, after we went to press, when there were present: Messrs Lillewall, Fenton, Robinson (Hellaby Bros.), King, Garrett (Mitchelson and Company), and Messrs Hesketh (for Mitchelson and Company and others), Buddie- (for Mrs Sheriff), and Brock (for Mr Yarborough). The following resolution was ad6pted, upon the motion of Mr Garrett, seconded by Mr Lillewall:-" That, in the opinion of this meeting,, the debtor's conduct has been unsatisfactory in , the extreme,, and that the Official Assignee be requested to draw the attention of the Court to the following facts deduced from the debtor's evidence: —" 1. That the debtor has incurred debts, which, at the time, he had no reasonable ground of being able to pay. 2. Has failed to keep any books or accounts. 3. Has obtained credit by fraud. 4. That he has so mixed his affairs with those of his wife and Burke as to prevent any clear idea being gained as to his position and dealings with his property — with a view to the criminal prosecution of the debtor, if the Court of Bankruptcy shall so.direct."
