London, March 22.—Consols have advanced to 102. The market rate of discount has declined to 2 per cent., and is now 1£ below the bank rate. New Zealand inscribod stock remains at 98. Colonial breadstuffs and tallow are unchanged.
Opening of the Wool Sales.
[ The second of this year's series of colonial wool auctions oponed to-day before a large attendance of home and foreign buyers. Tho catalogue comprised 9100 bales,for which bidding proceeded with fair Bpirit, but withoutpny quotable change on prices compared with the closing rates of the January and February auctions. For crossbreds and greasy morinoes those rates were barely maintained. The total quantity to be offered during tho present Bories, which closes on the 27th April, is limitod by tho Importers Committoo to 275,000 bales.

London, March 22.—W001: The sales opened fairly well. The market for merino ia slightly weaker, whiie crossbreda are farmer. The attendance of both homo and foreign buyers is good. The opening catalogue contained 9,000 bales. Up to date, 200,000 bales have arrived, but the het remains open until a total of 275 000 is reached. 50,000 bales have been cent to the manufacturing districts direct. _.A Press Association message Bays Me?sra Jacomb, Son, and Co have 9 000 bales catalogued, of which a third is from New South Wales. There was a full attendance, the bidding being keen and well sustained. The prices were about equal to iebruary closing rates, crossbreda being rather firme-. Owing to the numerous vessels being overdue, the list will be kept open till the arrivals reach 275,000 bales.
