NEWMARKETS' WATERWORKS TROUBLE.
The contractor for the now celebrated Newmarket.waterworks haa to-day, through his solicitors, served a writ for the payment of the balance of his account upon the Mayor of that borough. The correctness of the account in question, haa been certified to by the engineer! Mr Knox, but it is, objected to by the Council, who aver thit the work has never been completed, ami generally express extrerno disatisfaction at the final measurements and prosent state of the work. In addition, therefore, to the investigation of the engineer's action by the Council on Tuesday next, we may expect come protracted litigation, -
