Terrible Colliery Explosion in Berlin.

A tkbriblb mining disaster is reported from Rhenish, Prussia. Iv the Consolidation Mine, near Schnlke, in tho district of Portmund, nn explosion of firedamp occurred, when there were four hundred and twenty miners in the pit. According to oija of the-men who was' rescued,'a stream of gas was suddenly noticed to be issuing from a fissure, and immediately afterwards came in contact with a lamp, whereupon a. dark-bluo flame instantly eoamed to fill the mine. This was followed directly afterward by a terrible pressure of the air. The ittempt to rescue the miners began about noon, and did not conclude till 11 o'clock at uigiit. Forty-five men were brought to the pit's bank dsi.d- Another man was ro injured that he died on thd v/ay to the hospital. One or t*o of the injured laep have became insane. Half those killed in , the mine perished through the explosion, the others by suffocation.
