A BANK IN DIFFICULTIES.

A largo meeting of tho pharcholders of tlio Town and Country Bank was hold in Adelaide on Monday morning in the Town Hall building.' It was unanimously determined to accept the proposal of tho directors to amalgamate with the Commercial Bankof Australia, and that the shareholders in the Town aud Country Bank shall
receive payment for the shares, valued at ! £7. In reply to questions, Mr Glyde, the | chairman of the board of directors, said that tho Town and Country Bank had sustained unexpected losses during the pa»t half-year ; but ho declined to say whether they would or would not be covered by tho prolits for tho same term.
