KIMBERLEY GOLDFIELDS.

A further batch of disappointed diggers roturnod from Kimberloy to Melbourne on tho 11 th itist. by tho steamer Guthrio. They expressed groat disapf-o'n'ment at the field and tho rosults obtainod. Extracts from a letter writton by a digger to hia relatives in Victoria show that up to the present the rush has been a complete failure, and that there is every possibility of distress prevailing among many ot those who have gono to tho diggings. There were numerous accounts as to what tho blacks had done, but lip to tho present only one man had been kiilud, and another woundod whom thoy mot on the road back, It appeared that four or five raon wdro working in a ravine, wheu five ppaars were thrown at them. One piorcod tho man who was killed to tho heart, and tho wounded man was grazed on the forehead, thospoar penetrating through his hat. Ail the diggers turned out the noxl. day to hunt thorn up. They reported to the polico that thoy had killed three or four, but it is supposed thoy shot all tho blacks thoy came across.

A Wellington telegram recoived to day ftatos that unsatisfactory roports from Kimborley are still being roccivod. The following is an abstract from a lettor written by D. McOrath, from lvimberloy, to a friend at Wellington: — "Them arc men in ecore3 starving, and no prospect but to starve. There is no gold getting, ani they have no money, so there is nothing for them but t starve right out. Ido hopo that you won't bo on the way here before this reachoe you, and if you are not, don't ever come hero No mattor what kind of reports are in tho papers,don't ever come here."
