London, October 19.—Chas. N. Warton, late member for BiiUport, has boen appointed Attorney-General for Western Australia.
Colonial Products Compared. The " Times " praisea Victorian manu: factures, but considers th»t their textile fabrics hardly compare with those exhibited by Now South Wales and Kew Zealand. The same paper gives groat credit to South Australia for the display of wines, which are stronger and swootor than those of tho other colonies.
England and Egypt. Lokdon, October 18.—lluetom Pasha, tho Turkish Ambassador, has add refined a communication to Lord Wdesloigh, with referonco to Egyptian affairs, but its contents have not yet transpired. Kapanga Gold Mining Company.
Shares in the Kapanga Gold Mining Company, Coromandel, are b'uing allottod. The amount of the capital (£80,100) has beon subscribed for threefold.
Trado in .England. London, October 11.—The Parliamentary returns just issued, show that there has beon a considerable revival in the trado of the country. This combined with the fairly succaPsful past harvest season eeems to have had the effect of removing tho cloud of dopresi-ion that has hung over tho country for so long. Franco and China.
London, October 12th.—Some sensation has been occasioned by the announcement of a new development in tho general signs of a near approaching war. It is°reeolved to naako a vigorous attempt to terminate the French protectorato within the celostial territory, and that Franco has been informed that she will now have to abandon what Ehe claims to be hoc rights consequent upon her recont disputed conquest, or face anothor determined collision on the part of the reorganised Chinese army.
