ACCIDENT AT ONEHUNGA.
A Serious accident happened at Onehunga| last evening at half-past ten o'clock, to a young man named Burrell, of Ellerslie. SVhilst riding along Queen-street, which is very insufficiently lighted, his horse came into collision with a cart standing in the road. The
shaft of the cart ripped open the girths, and •' saddle and rider were precipitated upon the asphalted footpath in front of Mr Neilson'e, butcher. Tho young man lay in dn unconscious condition until the arrival of Dr. W. R. Erson, who was promptly in attendance, and pronounced him to bo suffering from concussion of tho brain. Under tho skilful medical treatment of which he had tho benefit, the sufferer eventually recovored sufficiently to bo moved to tho Railway Hotel. On inquiry this morning, wo learn that he is progressing favourably. •
